The following business workshops are offered on a monthly basis by the UMD Center for Economic Development. Check our online registration for dates and times of upcoming workshops.
Starting a Business in Minnesota
Have a great idea for a new business but don't know how to get started? Get valuable information about developing a business in the State of Minnesota .
Writing a Business Plan
Don't know how or where to begin writing a business plan? This workshop covers the components needed to write an effective business plan including: the Executive Summary, Business, Market, Organization and Financial Projections.
Tax-saving and Recordkeeping Tips for your Small Business
This information-packed workshop covers recordkeeping and tips on what to track throughout the year to be organized making tax time smoother.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations received more than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the workshop will be honored with a full refund.
- Participants failing to cancel their registration more than 24 hours prior to the beginning of the workshop will be charged the full registration fee.
- The UMD Center for Economic Development reserves the right to cancel any program not meeting minimum enrollment requirements. A full refund will be given if a workshop has been cancelled. Cancellations are made 24 hours prior to the beginning of each workshop.
